Emperor's new web vocabulary

This web2.0 is just nonsense - it's supposed to be all about inclusivity, wisdom of the crowd etc, but the whole thing smacks of nerdy exclusivity. When are 'they' going to use language that is understood by the very crowd that '2.0' is meant to include, ie everybody? Why give things all the esoteric labels - what on earth does 2.0 mean... 1.0 + 1.0?

Did anyone ever call the telephone 'social media'? A 'blog'? Are you kidding? And a Hawaiian fast cab a 'wiki'? How is anyone supposed to know what it is? What is wrong with using everyday terms... a blog should be called a Wrant... yes sir, a web rant. A wiki? A Collaboard may be more intuitive.

Wake up, people - so long as you create and use these silly names, you are either sabotaging yourselves or insincere about being inclusive. If your grandmother does not understand your terms, they are just too... wanky.
